Credits
Credits are consumed when merchi.ai processes your products. Each product content generation uses 1 credit. Other actions like generating images or removing backgrounds also consume credits.
How Credits Work
- Free Trial: You receive a one-time allowance of 20 credits for the duration of your trial. These do not reset.
- Paid Plans: Credits are allocated per billing cycle (monthly or annual). At the start of each new billing cycle, your used credits reset to zero.
Monitoring Your Credits
Your current credit usage is displayed in the sidebar at the bottom of the navigation. It shows your used and total credits along with a progress bar. For paid plans, the refresh date indicates when your credits will reset for the next billing cycle.
Upgrading Your Plan
You can upgrade your plan at any time from the Billing page under Settings.
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Compare the available plans
- Toggle between monthly and annual billing to see pricing options
- Click Upgrade on your chosen plan
- Complete the checkout process via Stripe
Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remainder of your current billing period.
Downgrading Your Plan
If you need to move to a lower-tier plan:
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Downgrade on the plan you’d like to switch to
Downgrades are scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you retain full access to your current plan until then. Your credits will be adjusted to match the new plan at the start of the next billing cycle.
Enterprise customers: Plan changes for Enterprise accounts are managed by our sales team. Please contact contact@merchi.ai to discuss resizing your account.
Annual vs Monthly Billing
You can choose between monthly and annual billing for Basic and Professional plans. Annual billing offers a significant discount (over 15% savings). Use the toggle on the Billing page to compare pricing.
If you switch from monthly to annual (or vice versa), the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Cancelling Your Subscription
To cancel your subscription:
- Go to Settings > Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm the cancellation
Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account will revert to limited access. You can resubscribe at any time.

Payment Methods
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment partner, Stripe. Enterprise customers can arrange payment by invoice.
Invoices & Receipts
You can access your invoices and payment history through the Stripe Customer Portal. A link to the portal is available on the Billing page under your current subscription details.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when I run out of credits?
You’ll see a notification and won’t be able to process new products until credits are refreshed at the start of your next billing cycle, or you upgrade to a higher plan.
Can I change plans mid-cycle?
Yes. Upgrades are immediate with prorated charges. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Do unused credits roll over?
No. Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle for paid plans. We recommend choosing a plan that matches your regular usage.
