Getting Started
What is merchi.ai?
merchi.ai is an AI-powered platform that automatically generates product content from images. Upload your product images, and we create titles, descriptions, attributes, and more.
How do I get started?

Is there a free trial?
Yes! merchi.ai offers a 30-day free trial with 20 credits — no credit card required. Sign up and start generating product content straight away. See Billing & Plans for full details of available plans.
Uploading Products
What file formats are supported?
- Images: JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, SVG
- ZIP files: Standard ZIP archives
- Spreadsheets: CSV, XLS, XLSX
What’s the maximum file size?
- Single images: 20MB
- ZIP files: 500MB
- Spreadsheets: 50MB
How many products can I upload at once?
ZIP uploads can contain thousands of products. For very large batches, we recommend splitting into multiple ZIPs.
How long does processing take?
- Single images: 30-60 seconds
- Small batches (10-50): A few minutes
- Large batches (100+): Depends on size, typically minutes to an hour
Content Generation
How accurate is the AI-generated content?
AI content is generally accurate but should always be reviewed. Accuracy depends on:
- Image quality
- Writing Knowledge configuration
- Product complexity
Can I edit the generated content?
Yes! All content is fully editable. Click any field to modify it.
How do I improve content quality?
- Use high-quality images
- Configure detailed Writing Knowledge
- Include multiple product images
- Provide existing product data if available
Does the AI copy content from the web?
No. merchi.ai generates original content based on analyzing your images and following your Writing Knowledge guidelines.
Languages
What languages are supported?
We support 30+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and more.
How do multi-language content work?
merchi.ai generates content natively in each configured language rather than translating from a base language. This produces higher quality, more natural-sounding content in each language.
Can I have different content per language?
Yes. Since content is generated independently for each language, you can also edit each language version separately.
Workflow
What do the workflow statuses mean?
- Pending: Awaiting initial review
- Review: Under active review
- Approved: Ready for use
- Rejected: Needs revision
Who can change workflow status?
All team members with appropriate permissions can change status.
Can I export only approved products?
Yes. Filter by Approved status in the All Products View, then export.

Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices. Your data is stored securely and not shared with third parties.
Can I integrate with my e-commerce platform?
Yes. Enterprise plans include API access, webhook integrations, and ecommerce integrations. Contact our sales team to discuss your integration requirements.
Account
How do I change my password?
Use the Forgot Password page to reset your password.
How do I add team members?
Contact your account administrator or our support team to add users.
What are credits?
Credits are consumed when merchi.ai processes your products. Each product content generation uses 1 credit. Other actions like image generation or background removal also consume credits. Free trial users receive a one-time allowance of 20 credits, while paid plans receive credits per billing cycle that reset automatically. See Billing & Plans for credit allowances per plan.
What happens when I run out of credits?
When you have no remaining credits, uploads and processing requests are blocked with a clear message. You will not be charged for blocked requests. To continue, either upgrade your plan in Settings → Billing or wait for your credits to refresh at the start of your next billing cycle. For API users, the API returns a 402 Payment Required response — see the API Reference for details.
Are credits checked before or after processing?
Credits are checked before your upload is processed. If you don’t have enough credits, the request is rejected immediately and no processing occurs. For batch uploads (ZIP files, spreadsheets), the system checks that you have at least 1 credit remaining — individual products within the batch are checked again during processing.
Billing
How does billing work?
merchi.ai offers Free Trial, Basic, Professional, and Enterprise plans. Basic and Professional plans can be billed monthly or annually, with annual billing offering over 15% savings. See Billing & Plans for full pricing and feature details.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges. Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period. Visit Settings > Billing to manage your subscription.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe. Enterprise customers can arrange payment by invoice.
