Solutions to common issues you may encounter while using merchi.ai.
Upload Issues
ZIP Upload Fails
Symptoms: Upload doesn’t complete or shows error
Solutions:
- Check file size (max 500MB)
- Ensure ZIP file isn’t corrupted
- Try uploading a smaller batch
- Check your internet connection
- Try a different browser
Images Not Processing
Symptoms: Upload succeeds but products don’t appear
Solutions:
- Verify file naming convention (SKU_number.jpg)
- Check image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, BMP, SVG)
- Ensure images are in the root of the ZIP (not nested in folders)
- Check for hidden files (like .DS_Store on Mac)
“File Too Large” Error
Solutions:
- Compress images before zipping
- Split into multiple smaller ZIPs
- Remove unnecessary files
- Use lower resolution images
Content Generation Issues
Poor Quality Descriptions
Symptoms: Generated content is generic or inaccurate
Solutions:
- Improve image quality and clarity
- Add more images per product
- Configure Writing Knowledge with detailed guidelines
- Add specific tone of voice instructions
- Include example content in assets
Missing Information
Symptoms: Some fields are empty or incomplete
Solutions:
- Ensure images show the relevant product features
- Check Schema settings for required fields
- Verify Writing Knowledge assets are complete
- Add more detailed images
Wrong Category Assignment
Symptoms: Products in wrong taxonomy
Solutions:
- Review and update your taxonomy asset
- Add category examples in Writing Knowledge
- Use clearer product images
- Edit categories manually in All Products View
Login & Access Issues
Can’t Log In
Solutions:
- Check email and password are correct
- Use “Forgot Password” to reset
- Check for caps lock
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser
Session Expired
Symptoms: Logged out unexpectedly
Solutions:
- Log in again
- Check if you’re logged in elsewhere
- Ensure cookies are enabled
- Don’t use browser privacy modes
Magic Link Not Working
Symptoms: Email link doesn’t work or shows error
Solutions:
- Check link hasn’t expired (valid for limited time)
- Don’t click the link multiple times
- Request a new magic link
- Check spam/junk folder
Display Issues
Page Not Loading
Solutions:
- Refresh the page
- Clear browser cache
- Check internet connection
- Try a different browser
- Disable browser extensions
All Products View Empty
Symptoms: No products shown
Solutions:
- Check active filters (clear all filters)
- Verify products have been uploaded
- Check you’re viewing the correct tenant
- Wait for processing to complete
Images Not Displaying
Solutions:
- Refresh the page
- Check image URLs are accessible
- Clear browser cache
- Try a different browser
Export Issues
Download Not Starting
Solutions:
- Check popup blocker settings
- Wait for large exports to generate
- Try a smaller filtered export
- Use a different browser
CSV File Opens Incorrectly
Solutions:
- Open with Excel’s import wizard
- Specify UTF-8 encoding
- Use Google Sheets for reliable opening
- Check file hasn’t been corrupted
Missing Data in Export
Solutions:
- Check active filters before export
- Verify locale selection
- Confirm products have the expected fields
- Check export completed fully
Integration Issues
Connection Failed
Symptoms: Can’t connect to external platform
Solutions:
- Verify credentials are correct
- Check platform API is available
- Ensure proper permissions are granted
- Review connection settings
Performance Issues
Slow Loading
Solutions:
- Check your internet connection
- Reduce items per page in All Products View
- Use filters to reduce data loaded
- Clear browser cache
- Try during off-peak hours
Processing Taking Too Long
Solutions:
- Large batches take longer - be patient
- Check processing status in All Products View alerts
- For very large batches, expect longer times
- Contact support if processing seems stuck
