    Product Details

    The Product Detail modal provides a comprehensive view of an individual product, allowing you to review and edit all generated content.

    Opening Product Details

    Click on any product row in the All Products View to open the detail modal.

    At the top of the modal, you’ll see all product images:

    • Image Carousel: Scroll through all product images
    • Zoom: Click an image to view it larger
    • Image Count: See how many images are associated with the product

    Content Fields

    The fields displayed depend on your Schema configuration. Common fields include:

    Title

    The generated product title. You can:

    • View the full title
    • Edit directly by clicking on the field
    • See character count

    Description

    The main product description:

    • Full rich text content
    • Edit with markdown support
    • Expandable view for long descriptions

    Short Description

    A condensed version of the description for:

    • Product listings
    • Search results
    • Quick previews

    Meta Description

    SEO-optimized description for:

    • Search engine results
    • Social media sharing
    • Page metadata

    Taxonomy

    The product’s category path:

    • View full category hierarchy
    • Edit category assignment
    • See parent and child categories

    Attributes

    Product characteristics and specifications:

    • Color, size, material, etc.
    • Edit individual attributes
    • Add or remove attributes

    Tags

    Keywords associated with the product:

    • SEO keywords
    • Search terms
    • Category tags

    Key Features

    Bullet points highlighting:

    • Main product benefits
    • Unique selling points
    • Important specifications

    Editing Content

    Inline Editing

    1. Click on any editable field
    2. Make your changes
    3. Click outside or press Enter to save

    Rich Text Editing

    For description fields:

    1. Click the edit button
    2. Use the markdown editor
    3. Preview your changes
    4. Save when complete

    Saving Changes

    • Changes auto-save when you click outside a field
    • A confirmation toast will appear
    • The “Updated At” timestamp updates

    Workflow Status

    Change the product’s workflow status from the modal:

    1. Click the status dropdown at the top
    2. Select the new status
    3. Confirm the change

    Status Options

    • Pending: Waiting for initial review
    • Review: Under active review
    • Approved: Content approved for use
    • Rejected: Needs revision

    Multi-Language Content

    Switch between languages to view/edit content in different locales:

    1. Use the locale selector at the top
    2. All fields update to show that language’s content
    3. Edit content for each language separately

    Image Management

    Manage product images from the detail view. Open the image management panel from the product detail modal to access all image tools.

    Add an image

    Upload a new image for the product. When you add an image, merchi.ai automatically:

    • Generates SEO-optimised alt tags in all your active languages
    • Optionally replaces the background using AI (select Replace Background and enter a prompt describing the scene you want)

    AI Image Generation

    Generate a completely new image using AI from within the product detail view:

    1. Click Generate Image with AI
    2. Select a reference image from the existing product images
    3. Enter a prompt describing what you want — for example: “Studio render on a white background” or “Lifestyle shot in a modern kitchen”
    4. Click Generate Image

    The generated image is processed in the background. A progress indicator appears while it is being created. When complete, the new image is added to the product and alt tags are generated automatically.

    Each AI-generated image receives its own AI provenance record, independently verifiable via the public verification API.

    Background replacement

    When uploading an image, toggle Replace Background to use AI to replace the background. Enter a prompt describing the background you want — for example: “Pure white studio background” or “Outdoor garden setting”. The AI will maintain the product subject at high fidelity.

    Reorder, set primary, delete

    • Drag and drop images to reorder them
    • Set the primary image (used as the main product image in exports and integrations)
    • Delete images you no longer need

    AI Provenance

    The AI Provenance card shows the origin of the AI-generated content for the product:

    • Which AI model generated the content
    • When it was generated
    • Current review status
    • A Verify link — click it to open the public verification endpoint and confirm the provenance of this specific generation

    When you save manual edits to any content field, the provenance review type is automatically updated to edited, recording that the AI output was modified by a human. This is reflected on the verification endpoint immediately after the product is approved.

    Regenerating Content

    If you’re not satisfied with the generated content, you can regenerate it using natural language prompts to provide instructions on how the content should be updated:

    1. Click Regenerate
    2. Select which fields to regenerate
    3. Enter instructions describing how you want the content changed
    4. Wait for new content to generate

    Tips for Review

    • Check Accuracy: Verify facts match the product images
    • Review All Languages: Check each language version
    • Verify Attributes: Ensure attributes are correct
    • Check SEO: Review meta descriptions for keywords
    • Compare Images: Make sure descriptions match visuals
